An article on the cost and time to implement was posted. What are your thoughts?

In relation to the article ‘The time and cost to implement‘, someone has emailed me to ask what it would cost to manage the waste. The article only covered the cost of developing a prototype reactor to develop the technology so Australia could be sure it was an appropriate and manageable technology, and didn’t cover the cost to change over our existing power stations or to manage the waste. With regards to running costs, there are a couple things to consider in addition to waste disposal/storage:

    • What would be the equivalent cost to alternative nett carbon neutral power generation capable of a base load supply?
    • How much can we charge foreign nuclear countries to dispose of their waste by generating our electricity?

Perhaps the answers will be answered in a future article when some more research is done.
